The following is an important message from Duncannon Borough. As you were informed last Friday, August 23rd, the Boil Water Advisory put in place resulting from our recent Ann Street Water Main and Valves Replacement Project had been lifted. The project was completed, and the water was tested and deemed safe for consumptive use. However, the Mandatory Water Conservation Notice restrictions put in place on June 19th remain in effect. The following water uses are considered non-essential and are prohibited: filling and topping off of swimming pools; watering lawns, gardens, landscaped areas, trees, shrubs and outdoor plants; washing paved surfaces such as streets, sidewalks, driveways, garages, parking areas, tennis courts and patios; operating water fountains, artificial waterfalls and reflecting pools; washing building structures and decks, vehicles and equipment; and serving water in eating places unless specifically requested by the individual. There are limited exceptions to these prohibited water uses. For specific information about these exceptions, visit DEP’s website at “www.depweb.state.PA.US“, keyword: Drought. We will inform you when the prohibited water use restrictions are lifted. Please contact the Borough Office at 717.834.4311 with any questions, and thank you for your continued cooperation.
