The Borough is undertaking a number of water system maintenance activities next week.  Fire hydrant flow testing will occur overnight on Monday September 8th to Tuesday September 9th between the hours of 9pm – 6am. The testing is an effort to evaluate the capability of the Borough water system for fire protection. Hydrant flushing is scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at various locations throughout the Borough.  The flushing is necessary to improve water quality throughout the system.  Finally, a water valve replacement will occur on Wednesday and Thursday at the intersection of Lincoln Street and Cherry Street.

We kindly ask that all residents be aware of the work being performed and plan to limit heavy water usage during these times. Residents may experience discolored water for a short period of time during and after the testing and flushing, so please plan accordingly. A boil water advisory will likely be required for a small number of residents in the Lincoln Street and Cherry Street area.  We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you.
